Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Acun Tandan having to interfere. The supporters of Mexico booed when Yeşilköyspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emilio Castulo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 25 played minutes, Mexico's Joel Gaona shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Acun Tandan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mexico reached it. 27 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Acun Tandan. Yeşilköyspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 42 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Sæbø. Yeşilköyspor's Acun Tandan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 43rd minute of play.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mark Sæbø in the 52nd minute of play. Yeşilköyspor's Acun Tandan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 58th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Acun Tandan in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 91st minute of play forced Yeşilköyspor's goalkeeper Acun Tandan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
