Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) When Camilo Gaos fell near the penalty area in the 3rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Camilo Gaos a yellow card for diving instead. In the 6th minute Patricio Costa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafael Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Werneck FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laerte Valladares didn't get a good kick on the ball. 31 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Vinhas came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Lucas Ferreira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Lucas Ferreira got a free kick in the 34th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fernando Vinhas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Werneck FC - DMZ's Rafael Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 54th minute of play. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafael Loyola having to interfere. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Rafael Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Venezuela's Salvador Gisbert managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Mário Mendes in the 64 minute of the game. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rafael Loyola didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Rafael Loyola came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 73rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. When Fernando Vinhas came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Werneck FC - DMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernando Vinhas couldn't finish the play. Rafael Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caio Ceresso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 88th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Zézinho Fantini in the 88th minute really tested Jonathan Ferrant's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With an all-out effort, Werneck FC - DMZ's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Fernando Vinhas, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Rafael Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Venezuela fans cheered their team off the field, for while Werneck FC - DMZ had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
