After a rather tough play, Penuel Football Club's Fernando Cavenaghi got a free kick in the 4th minute. 7 minutes into the match, Edmundo Espiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Veronica Vielva. Penuel Football Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmundo Espiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 11th minute of the game Christian Sancho made a throw-in which Edmundo Espiga played forward. Veronica Vielva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Penuel Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Sebastian Villa came free, but Veronica Vielva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Penuel Football Club's Veronica Vielva got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. With his leg Veronica Vielva managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Honduras's Edmundo Espiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 19 played minutes Penuel Football Club got a freekick which was hit by Leopoldo Cero. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 20th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Veronica Vielva saved Penuel Football Club from getting behind. Luca Espinar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veronica Vielva having to interfere. Edmundo Espiga had several of the Penuel Football Club's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Veronica Vielva as he didn't even see the shot coming. Edmundo Espigas short, quick shot in the 30thth minute got Veronica Vielva to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 32 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Veronica Vielva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Veronica Vielva came out and tried to block the shot, but Edmundo Espiga slotted it home off the left post making it 5-0 in the 36th minute. After 41 minutes of play, Honduras's Sebastian Villa made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Veronica Vielva was left in no man's land by his defense there! Veronica Vielva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Sebastian Villa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Honduras's supporters rose to their feet, but Sebastian Villa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Veronica Vielva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Veronica Vielva made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 6-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Matías Almeyda made the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 52nd minute of play forced Penuel Football Club's goalkeeper Veronica Vielva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 53 minutes into the game, Honduras's Christian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Veronica Vielva made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Veronica Vielva prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 63 minutes, Edmundo Espiga put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Veronica Vielva. Veronica Vielva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Espiga in the 66th minute of the match. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Veronica Vielva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Penuel Football Club made a substitution. Ramos Cuyar replaced Fernando Cavenaghi. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 82nd minute of the match Ivan Navarro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Veronica Vielva skillfully saved the ball. Valentín Carvallo made in the 88th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Edmundo Espiga. In the 89th minute Edmundo Espiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Veronica Vielva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luca Espinar struck a weak shot in the 90th minute. Veronica Vielva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Veronica Vielva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 92nd minute. 93 minutes into the match, Penuel Football Club's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Veronica Vielva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Veronica Vielva having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 97th minute of play forced Penuel Football Club's goalkeeper Veronica Vielva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
