Orlando Casaus could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Luiz Paulo Mazza made a huge save. Mariano Lacasa who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 48thth minute tested the skills of Luiz Paulo Mazza when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chile.
