Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Iurie Avacariței started the match with the kick off. Luis Andino scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manuel Lovinescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when FC Oltul Slatina's Iurie Avacariței fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 13 minutes into the game, Agustín Saelices cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Manuel Lovinescu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Gelu Coman blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. 20 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gaudencio Ubarna came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Lovinescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 28 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Manuel Lovinescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Manuel Lovinescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 33rd minute of play. Manuel Lovinescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute Iurie Avacariței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaudencio Ubarna in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 61st minute. Manuel Lovinescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. FC Oltul Slatina's Manuel Lovinescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save FC Oltul Slatina from getting a goal against them. Gaudencio Ubarna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. After having played for 70 minutes, Iurie Avacariței managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Oltul Slatina's supporters crossed their fingers, but Iurie Avacariței was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC Oltul Slatina's Șerban Tilincă was substituted for Denis Cângea. FC Oltul Slatina made a substitution. Nichifor Bornescu replaced Gelu Coman. After a rather tough play, FC Oltul Slatina's Gaudencio Ubarna got a free kick in the 74th minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gaudencio Ubarna in the 81st minute of play. Nichifor Bornescu kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. FC Oltul Slatina's Manole Vâlcu was substituted for Doru Oprescu. In the 82nd match minute, FC Oltul Slatina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nichifor Bornescu to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Lovinescu made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute Iurie Avacariței shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, FC Oltul Slatina's Manuel Lovinescu got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. When FC Oltul Slatina's Iurie Avacariței in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. FC Oltul Slatina were awarded a corner in the 90th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Neil Cassar Overend took the corner. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
