Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Marco van Nistelrooij kicked off to start the match. Amado Gamus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. Felix Montes's late challenge caught a Caricancha's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Felix Montes helped the player get up and apologised. 7 minutes into the match, Caricancha's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Amado Gamus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Amado Gamus was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jon Hally, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 25 minutes into the match, Caricancha's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Amado Gamus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 26 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Amado Gamus was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amado Gamus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 30th minute of play. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 42 minutes, Jon Hally managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Caricancha's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jon Hally was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amado Gamus having to interfere. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. If Muni Forró had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amado Gamus having to make a save. Caricancha's Clinton Mata was substituted for Jorge Bermudez. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 61th minute after Caricancha's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muni Forró in the 63rd minute of play. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. Caricancha made a substitution. Zheng Chao Bing replaced Joel Artaldo. After some fancy dribbling in the 69th minute, Muni Forró managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caricancha's supporters rose to their feet, but Muni Forró was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Muni Forró took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Amado Gamus quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Felix Montenegro hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Astor Senio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Caricancha's supporters rose to their feet, but Astor Senio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 93rd minute Muni Forró shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Felix Montes hit a great ball. When the match was over Ecuador could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Caricancha throughout the match.
