In the 11thth minute of the game Moises Fernandino who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Osasco Hot Dogers's Zé Roberto Veiga was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Roberto Veiga showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Fernandino, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. When Giovanni Munhoz fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Osasco Hot Dogers's protests and gave Giovanni Munhoz a yellow card for diving instead. El Salvador's Abram Luque got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ricardo Zorita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Paulo Carneiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Luiz Paulo Carneiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Luiz Paulo Carneiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 43rd minute, Luiz Paulo Carneiro made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Tiaguinho Lira made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, one of El Salvador:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for El Salvador. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Giovanni Munhoz in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Moises Fernandino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Zé Roberto Veiga made a huge save. 63 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Osasco Hot Dogers the free kick. In the 63rd minute, Moises Fernandino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 65th minute, Giovanni Munhoz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Zorita stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Paulo Carneiro's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. In the 79th minute, Moisés Jacinto left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Osasco Hot Dogers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. The attack was good, but when Moises Fernandino in the 83rd minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The supporters of El Salvador booed when Osasco Hot Dogers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Gonçalves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Giovanni Munhoz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Abram Luque came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abram Luque couldn't finish the play. In the 99th minute of the match Ivo Dracena sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita skillfully saved the ball.
