Werneck FC - DMZ's Felix Donciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 12th minute of play. Felix Donciu made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Facundo Cadaval sent off a good shot on target. In the 19th minute, Diamantino Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Felix Donciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Felix Donciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Machado in the 24th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Werneck FC - DMZ were awarded a corner in the 25th minute after Mexico's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joélson Amaral took the corner. Werneck FC - DMZ's Joélson Amaral was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Dante Lacasa in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Werneck FC - DMZ's Felix Donciu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 27th minute of play. After 28 minutes of play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Emilio Machado made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emilio Machado in the 36th minute of the match. Alberto Tafalla spun around in front of the goal 38 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Werneck FC - DMZ's goal. After 41 played minutes Werneck FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Diamantino Andrade. Emilio Machado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 46th minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Felix Donciu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 64th minute Emilio Machado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 66 minutes into the match, Werneck FC - DMZ's goal looked a bit too open when Facundo Cadaval came free, but Felix Donciu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Werneck FC - DMZ's Zé Paulo Luz was substituted for Emilio Machado. Felix Donciu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. The supporters of Mexico booed when Werneck FC - DMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joélson Amaral didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joel Gaona didn't quite understand what happened when in the 75 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. 77 minutes into the game, Facundo Cadaval cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Felix Donciu was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of Werneck FC - DMZ:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mexico:s goal. The referee gave Mexico a penalty, 83 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joel Gaona, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Werneck FC - DMZ's Felix Donciu. 3-2. Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. After 88 played minutes Werneck FC - DMZ got a freekick which was hit by Murillo Fontes. Joel Gaona was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 89th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Felix Donciu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 93rd minute of play.
