Pedro Paulo Barreto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Pedro Paulo Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 12th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Casimiro Jatsu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Peru's Milagros Fraga slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Paulo Barreto. That made the score 0-1 after 89 minutes of play. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Peru walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
