Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Åke Jansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Åke Jansson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Åke Jansson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 37th minute. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Guillermo Mariano hit a great ball.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Åke Jansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Åke Jansson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Åke Jansson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Åke Jansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. Wiktor Wallander was out of position in the 62 minute of play, and Tomas Illescas capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomas Illescas really showed his touch with that goal: 2-1. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Åke Jansson in the 69th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 75th minute, Åke Jansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Åke Jansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Zero Hedge's Hans Nordström quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Guillermo Mariano, made in the 80th minute of the game. In the 82ndth minute of the game Åke Jansson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Åke Jansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jonathan Ferrant was relentless in the 84th minute of the game. The supporters of Zero Hedge booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. 91 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Zero Hedge were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
