To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 武 石义 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 23rd minute of play. 肖翔伟 who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 25thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in ≮王者归来≯国家联队's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 武 石义 came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

53 minutes into the match, 潘飞文 had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that 潘飞文 was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 武 石义 having to interfere. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute of the match 马凌云 sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind ≮王者归来≯国家联队's goalkeeper 武 石义, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 72nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. ≮王者归来≯国家联队 were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
