After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Hermínio Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Hermínio Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luisinho Lira in the 80th minute of the match. Jorge Campos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Macaco F.C.'s zone, Luca Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jorge Campos came out of the goal and Luca Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
