In the 15th minute of the match Peru got a corner. R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luz Tejedor ran over to the corner to take the kick. Milagros Fraga was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Cristo Rey kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. 22 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И's Tony Uchiha. Tony Uchiha was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristo Rey in the 25th minute of the match. Julian Murillo might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tony Uchiha. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Julian Murillo ran back to his position shaking his head. Cristo Rey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. 31 minutes into the game, Alonso Berganza threw the ball into play from the sideline. R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И's Danilo Illart quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Julian Murillo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tony Uchiha having to make a save. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristo Rey, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. After 47 played minutes, Peru's Luz Tejedor shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tony Uchiha came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Peru reached it. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The supporters of Peru booed when R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 50 match minutes in a wonderful position. Danilo Illart didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Uchiha made an important save on a dangerous shot by Julian Murillo in the 56th minute. Cristo Rey's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after Peru's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jesus Ofelio took the corner. After a rather tough play, R̶Ī̶И̶И̶Є̶Ǥ̶Â̶И's Danilo Illart got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Julian Murillos short, quick shot in the 75thth minute got Tony Uchiha to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 78th minute, Alonso Berganza hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristo Rey in the 86th minute of play. Tony Uchiha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 88th minute of the match. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
