Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Egg Chasers FC's Damian Stonehouse started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. When Peter Crouch came up free with the goalie in the 4th minute, the Egg Chasers FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Crouch couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Egg Chasers FC booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Efrain Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 18 minutes into the match, Matthew Brookman had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matthew Brookman was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 20th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Rex Wall stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Rex Wall tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Matthew Brookman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthew Brookman in the 34th minute of the match. 34 minutes into the game, Matthew Brookman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Peter Crouch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Egg Chasers FC's Fabien Barthez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 40th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rex Attenborough in the 43rd minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 44th minute of the match Egg Chasers FC got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rex Wall ran over to the corner to take the kick. Damian Stonehouse was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Axel Tasis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 51st minute. The Egg Chasers FC fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Egg Chasers FC's Damian Stonehouse looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 56th minute of the match, Damian Stonehouse tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Benito Sanz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Benito Sanz was out of position in the 59 minute of play, and Joel Groom capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joel Groom really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Stonehouse, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 minutes, Juan Rubio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Egg Chasers FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 63 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Juan Rubio. Damian Stonehouse struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Egg Chasers FC. After 66 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Carballo. 67 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Rex Wall came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 68th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alan Moruga to maneuver through the defense. Damian Stonehouse recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabien Barthez prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Damian Stonehouse in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 76th minute of the match Egg Chasers FC got a corner. Costa Rica's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Egg Chasers FC's Peter Crouch slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 0-6 after 80 minutes of play. After 87 minutes of play, Egg Chasers FC's Matthew Brookman made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ronny Whieldon hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 92nd minute.
