A well done corner resulted in Daniel Zorita drilling the ball in to score 0-1 behind Atletico Aragua FC's goalkeeper. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Arnold Collins tried to sneak it across the goal line. Atletico Aragua FC's Renato Nunez-Tesheira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Rafe Vallina came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafe Vallina blasted a shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Rafe Vallina sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristian Sancho hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renato Nunez-Tesheira in the 55th minute of play. A collision led to Atletico Aragua FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Miguel Echavarria hit a great ball. Daniel Zorita kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 61stth minute. Though ot was a great shot Atletico Aragua FC's keeper Haitz Langarica was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Daniel Zorita made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 61stth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Haitz Langarica would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. With a little luck, Atletico Aragua FC's Haitz Langarica got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Arnold Collins's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute, Renato Nunez-Tesheira left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atletico Aragua FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 80th minute, Camilo Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Atletico Aragua FC getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Rafe Vallina hit a great ball. Christiano Fano kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Atletico Aragua FC players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
