In the 3rd minute 范建皓 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 4th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arturo Carvallo to maneuver through the defense. Joaquin Gayoso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gervasio Flores in the 5th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antônio Rocha got free with Joaquin Gayoso in the 11th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Urbano Hever charged in rather forcefully in the 13th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Urbano Hever the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Urbano Hever hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Jaime Cazalla recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 14th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dominik Heinrich showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francisco Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Francisco Seco recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Antônio Rocha had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 35th minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dominik Heinrich breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by 范建皓 in the 43rd minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, TJ Lokomotiva DL's Urbano Hever got a free kick in the 44th minute. Renzo Orihuela was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 45 minutes into the match. Jaime Cazalla placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

With a little luck, TJ Lokomotiva DL's Dominik Heinrich got control of the ball when Camilo Franco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Joaquin Gayoso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Gervasio Flores stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Gervasio Flores tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Dominik Heinrich tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco Seco's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dominik Heinrich read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 89th minute of play. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Uruguay were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
