Gualterio Faron started the match with the kick off. Elpidio Txomin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute of the match. Elpidio Txomin didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Tafalla went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Antonio Vespucio Liberti's Gualterio Faron came free and shot a quick shot against goal 15 minutes in the game, fortunately Dante Lacasa had problems saving as it came toward the left post. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Mexico! The crowd rose to their feet as Epifanio Demesio kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dante Lacasa. That made the score 2-1 in the 29 minute of play. Dante Lacasa made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Gualterio Faron sent off a good shot on target. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Elpidio Txomin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 41st minute of the match. 41 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Antonio Vespucio Liberti's Elpidio Txomin. Elpidio Txomin was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joel Gaona was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Antonio Vespucio Liberti's goalkeeper Elpidio Txomin, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luca Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Elpidio Txomin tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 55 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Epifanio Demesio came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 56th minute, Joel Gaona got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Antonio Vespucio Liberti's zone, Alberto Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elpidio Txomin came out of the goal and Alberto Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The Mexico fans' excitement grew in the 66th match minute when Mexico's Joel Gaona looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. After a rather tough play, Antonio Vespucio Liberti's Rafael Quinten got a free kick in the 70th minute. Elpidio Txomin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 73rd minute of play. In the 75th minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Elpidio Txomin. Antonio Vespucio Liberti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-4. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sander Korsma in the 78th minute of play. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Facundo Cadaval hit a great ball. Antonio Vespucio Liberti made a substitution. Elvio Indar replaced Sander Korsma. In the 81st minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 86th minute, Lautaro Mancebo made a precise shot to the right of Elpidio Txomin. Antonio Vespucio Liberti's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-5. In the 91st minute, Rafael Quinten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Facundo Cadaval during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Mexico players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
