Rafael Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Espiga, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Navarro hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 20th minute, Edmundo Espiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 25th minute Caio Ceresso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Werneck FC - DMZ's Mário Mendes got a free kick in the 50th minute. When Edmundo Espiga fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Honduras's protests and gave Edmundo Espiga a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Werneck FC - DMZ booed when Honduras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edmundo Espiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rafael Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sebastian Villa in the 54th minute of play. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caio Ceresso in the 55th minute of play. Werneck FC - DMZ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Caio Ceresso hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Werneck FC - DMZ's zone, Moises Tafalla stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Loyola came out of the goal and Moises Tafalla tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Honduras's Lautaro Navarro got control of the ball when Caio Ceresso tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Honduras players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
