Honduras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 34th match minute, AFC Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 袁源珂 to maneuver through the defense. 孟凌鹏 came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Honduras's Edmundo Espiga. But to his dismay, Edmundo Espiga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind AFC Ajax's goalkeeper 孟凌鹏, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Edmundo Espiga stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 55 minutes into the match, AFC Ajax's goalkeeper 孟凌鹏 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edmundo Espiga. Luca Espinar kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Lautaro Navarro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 孔亮铮 in the 60th minute of play. Edmundo Espiga struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. 孟凌鹏 didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Honduras. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from 孔亮铮, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 袁源珂 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 68 minutes into the game, 雷斐桦 was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. AFC Ajax's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. Through an outstanding action, after 72 minutes, 孟凌鹏 successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, AFC Ajax's 袁源珂 got a free kick in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the game, Edmundo Espiga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. 孟凌鹏 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Edmundo Espigas short, quick shot in the 79thth minute got 孟凌鹏 to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After 81 played minutes AFC Ajax got a freekick which was hit by 曹林林. Edmundo Espiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. 孟凌鹏 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by 孔亮铮 in the 87th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
