A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Venezuela's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Neno Gudelj 32 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th match minute, Crni Tigrovi was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cláudio Amaro to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Neno Gudelj to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Crni Tigrovi's Neno Gudelj nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 96th minute Neno Gudelj shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
