The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victorino Frederik in the 10th minute of the match. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 12th minute. The corner led to Peru's Eliseo Mina getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Michael Krawczyk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Victorino Frederik could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Rolando Noboa made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Goral Zywiec's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Michael Krawczyk reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute the ball was on its way in behind Goral Zywiec's goalkeeper Michael Krawczyk, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grzegorz Jajecznica, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After 24th play minutes Victorino Frederik shot 1-0, a short shot which went by Rolando Noboa and just under the crossbar into goal. 29 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Michael Krawczyk. In the 44th minute, Julian Murillo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, Peru's Milagros Fraga got a free kick in the 45th minute. The Goral Zywiec players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grzegorz Jajecznica, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Peru's Luz Tejedor quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roman Makomaski in the 75th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Roman Makomaski, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the match, Roman Makomaski notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Peru's Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
