In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Juventus FC's goalkeeper Olexiy Stus, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Agustín Saelices managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Agustín Saelices was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Olexiy Stus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juventus FC's Olexiy Stus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 22nd minute of play. 30 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Juventus FC's Olexiy Stus. Olexiy Stus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robertinho Baggio to strike the kick off in the second half. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 50th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Olexiy Stus made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Agustín Saelices sent off a good shot on target. In the 79th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The attack was good, but when Luis Andino in the 80th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. When the final whistle sounded Ecuador left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Juventus FC.
