Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Young Ostend United's Stanny Van Gorp played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 3rd minute of play. Joel Gaona received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Stanny Van Gorp tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Stanny Van Gorp took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Joel Gaona came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joel Gaona couldn't finish the play. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 20 minutes, Joel Gaona put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Stanny Van Gorp. In the 23rd minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Stanny Van Gorp saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romário Molina received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Dante Lacasa came out and tried to block the shot, but Romário Molina slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 26th minute. Stanny Van Gorp showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of Young Ostend United booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Rouco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Young Ostend United's Stanny Van Gorp managed to reach the ball for a save. Romário Molina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 42 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Alain Wans hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Lautaro Mancebo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 54thth minute tested the skills of Stanny Van Gorp when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 54 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo lined in a short shot 1-2 behind a frustrated Stanny Van Gorp. 56 minutes into the match, Mexico's Joel Gaona sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stanny Van Gorp narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mexico were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Young Ostend United's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joel Gaona took the corner. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Joel Gaona fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Stanny Van Gorp quite easily take care of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Facundo Cadaval in the 59th minute of play forced Young Ostend United's goalkeeper Stanny Van Gorp to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 63 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stanny Van Gorp. Young Ostend United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alberto Tafalla was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joppe Van Goitsenhoven, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Young Ostend United's Stanny Van Gorp proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Young Ostend United from getting a goal against them. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Jason Asselberghs sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Stanny Van Gorp in the 78th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play.
