If Mauro Boselli had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Through an outstanding action, after 21 minutes, Rolando Noboa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ismael Vellito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Mina, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Peru's Alonso Berganza managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Lisandro Martínez in the 27 minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ismael Vellito saved Shuspendemo from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Peru's zone, Brooks Willison stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal and Brooks Willison tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mauro Boselli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. Brooks Willison kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Enrique Silban hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Shuspendemo's Ismael Vellito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 52nd minute of the match, managed to save Shuspendemo from getting a goal against them. Ismael Vellito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Mauro Boselli ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rolando Noboa was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Shuspendemo made a substitution. Ismael Vellito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Tenorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
