The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaime Pardo kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. Primitivo Escribano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Roberto Veiga came out and tried to block the shot, but Primitivo Escribano slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 5th minute. Zé Roberto Veiga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hector Covarrubias in the 8th minute. Giovanni Munhoz hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tiaguinho Lira in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jacobo Nores saved Paraguay from getting behind. In the 25th minute, Luiz Paulo Carneiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Pardo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 36thth minute tested the skills of Zé Roberto Veiga when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Paraguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ivo Dracena was slow to take the kick. During this time Osasco Hot Dogers's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Osasco Hot Dogers's Ivo Dracena to fire away a dangerous shot which Jacobo Nores despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpected shot in the 43rd minute by Jaime Pardo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The wind increased when Tiaguinho Lira made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Jaime Pardo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Jaime Pardo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Roberto Veiga having to interfere. Paraguay's defense didn't have a chance, in the 57th minute, when Luiz Paulo Carneiro scored to the left of an out of position Jacobo Nores, making the score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano got a free kick in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the game, Osasco Hot Dogers's Tiaguinho Lira nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. Fernando Amengual lost his temper 66 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Paraguay! In the 71st minute, Hector Covarrubias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tiaguinho Lira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-4 in the 72nd playminute. 82 minutes into the match, Osasco Hot Dogers's Tiaguinho Lira sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Osasco Hot Dogers were awarded a corner in the 84th minute after Paraguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Ivo Dracena took the corner. The corner led Osasco Hot Dogers's Giovanni Munhoz to fire away a dangerous shot which Jacobo Nores despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luiz Paulo Carneiro struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Osasco Hot Dogers. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 94th minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Paraguay lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
