Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Augustinas Gavorskis, who was totally free with the ball in the 9th minute. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Augustinas Gavorskis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 17 minutes into the match, Deportivo Medievales's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Robert Abbondanzieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Robert Abbondanzieri made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 18th minute of play. Deportivo Medievales's Robert Abbondanzieri proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Deportivo Medievales from getting a goal against them. Robert Abbondanzieri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 37th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Augustinas Gavorskis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Alberto Tafalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Robert Abbondanzieri tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Deportivo Medievales were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Augustinas Gavorskis was the one to do the kick off. Robert Abbondanzieri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 54th minute of the match. In the 55th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. Deportivo Medievales's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 58thth minute of the game Joel Gaona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Medievales's Robert Abbondanzieri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Deportivo Medievales's Eleuterio Ovando was substituted for Gustavo Gar. Leonardo Leoz got a throw-in 62 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Lautaro Mancebo. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Augustinas Gavorskis in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. 66 minutes in the game Macos Graciani did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Joel Gaona. Nino Manfredi's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Dante Lacasa firmly grabbed it by the left post. 71 minutes into the match, Deportivo Medievales's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Robert Abbondanzieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 87th minute of play forced Deportivo Medievales's goalkeeper Robert Abbondanzieri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The corner led Deportivo Medievales's Tomas Sazon to fire away a dangerous shot which Dante Lacasa despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luca Zorita hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute, Luca Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Deportivo Medievales supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Deportivo Medievales would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
