Tomas Berganza started the match with the kick off. Gladiadores Legionarios's Efrain Maria played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 8th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Sacit Refik notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Panama's Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Isidoro Sarmiento sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Efrain Maria stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Berganza's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. 22 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Basilio Pepillo came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Haroldo Abadie went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 32nd minute of play forced Gladiadores Legionarios's goalkeeper Efrain Maria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 33rd minute of the match Panama got a corner. Gladiadores Legionarios's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 47th match minute, Gladiadores Legionarios was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabio Bernabel to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 54 minutes of play, Gladiadores Legionarios's Haroldo Abadie made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 57th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Maria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 58 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Alguacil. The supporters of Panama booed when Gladiadores Legionarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ermegildo Calvet didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute of the match Abraham Alguacil shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Efrain Maria showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Su Xiang Sha kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Sacit Refik tried to sneak it across the goal line. 78 minutes into the match, Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Niklas Dalkvist. Niklas Dalkvist who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Marcos Cotilla when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 81st minute, Alex Cambeiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Gladiadores Legionarios's Basilio Pepillo got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 92nd minute Abraham Alguacil shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Efrain Maria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Efrain Maria showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Abraham Alguacil in the 93rd minute of the match. Gladiadores Legionarios's Bernardino Orzaize was substituted for Ermegildo Calvet. Gladiadores Legionarios's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
