After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Simon Salbatore to make the kick off. In the 72nd minute Simon Salbatore shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 73 minutes, Simon Salbatore managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A collision led to Boca Juniors getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Cristobal Feo hit a great ball. When Valdemar Oliveira fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Boca Juniors's protests and gave Valdemar Oliveira a yellow card for diving instead. Valdemar Oliveira hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The Boca Juniors support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
