The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sindo Enterria, made in the 15th minute of the game. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kevin Mastache, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colombia's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Axel Montenegro in the 16th minute. Joshua Garrido was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. 19 minutes into the match, Colombia's goal looked a bit too open when Florencio Herbella came free, but Pedro Manzanares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 22 minutes into the match, Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper Weather Piedrahita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Axel Montenegro. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Atletico Maturrango's Marcial Zuazna quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Axel Montenegro, made in the 45th minute of the game. In the 46th minute, Florencio Herbella ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Abram Sarmiento to make the kick off. Weather Piedrahita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Axel Montenegro in the 52nd minute of play. Leonides Ybarbo scored 1-4 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Manzanares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of Colombia booed when Atletico Maturrango was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Primo Valcarcel didn't get a good kick on the ball. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. After a rather tough play, Atletico Maturrango's Primo Valcarcel got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Kevin Mastache took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 74th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Weather Piedrahita. Atletico Maturrango's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Weather Piedrahita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Mastache, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Atletico Maturrango's Weather Piedrahita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Secada in the 91st minute of play. Weather Piedrahita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Santino Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Atletico Maturrango walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
