Felix Montenegro scored 0-1 in the 19th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Franco Moscatelli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of La Scaloneta's Franco Moscatelli. Franco Moscatelli was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Gilberto Izel stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Gilberto Izel tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique Rozarius in the 34th minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Rozarius in the 38th minute. 45 minutes into the game, one of Ecuador:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Julio Vera had in the 47thth minute some difficulties stopping Gilberto Izel's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Gilberto Izel did an outstanding performance 47 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-2 to the right of an irritated Julio Vera in the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Izel's shot from short distance in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, La Scaloneta's Franco Moscatelli got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 57 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Enrique Rozarius who took care of the corner kick. La Scaloneta's Enrique Rozarius was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Gilberto Izel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to La Scaloneta getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Nikita Kovtun hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Juan Sebastián Puig got a free kick in the 67th minute. The supporters of La Scaloneta booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Rozarius in the 80th minute of play. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Franco Moscatelli came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 2-3 in the 84th minute. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye La Scaloneta's goalie prevented a goal. 91 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Izel came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gilberto Izel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 93 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Enrique Rozarius who took care of the corner kick. After having played for 95 minutes, Gilberto Izel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. La Scaloneta's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Izel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Polat Aranda kicked well hit freekick during the 97th minute of the match. The La Scaloneta fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
