After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Silvério Gomes managed to get in a good position for a shot. 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's supporters rose to their feet, but Silvério Gomes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the game, Váldson Mendes recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. Váldson Mendes showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 14 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Guillermo Mariano. Cacá Ribeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Jonathan Ferrant managed to avoid a goal in the 19thth minute, when 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Váldson Mendes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 21st match minute, 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadá Lucas to maneuver through the defense. 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's Cacá Ribeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 28th minute of play. Dadá Lucas hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Cacá Ribeiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cacá Ribeiro having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Váldson Mendes was the one to do the kick off. In the 51st minute, 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Patricio Costa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Cacá Ribeiro when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The supporters of Venezuela booed when 【¡Hālā Μāđяιđ CF!】 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dadá Lucas didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cacá Ribeiro made a fantastic save in the 67th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. The crowd rose to their feet as Venezuela's Patricio Costa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Cacá Ribeiro. That made the score 2-1 after 90 minutes of play. Váldson Mendes charged in rather forcefully in the 95th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Váldson Mendes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a free kick in the 96th minute. Venezuela's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
