Jonathan Ferrant was a little too slow when André Roriz got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 16th minute. The score was now 1-0. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ignatius Casasola having to interfere. Edgar Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 23 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 24th match minute, Garanhão do SUL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Salvador Lousada to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Garanhão do SUL booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rigoberto Mina didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassiano Telinhos in the 27th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 32nd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. In the 37th minute, Aloísio Garcez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Edgar Costa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Garanhão do SUL's Ignatius Casasola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 41st minute of play. After 44 played minutes Garanhão do SUL got a freekick which was hit by Cassiano Telinhos. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Edgar Costa made the kick off in the second half. If Edgar Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adriano Leite made in the 55th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Aloísio Garcez. Garanhão do SUL's André Roriz got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Garanhão do SUL made a substitution. Albano Leizarraga replaced Edgar Costa. Akis Kefallinos hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 64th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Akis Kefallinos in the 67th minute of the match. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Garanhão do SUL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. André Roriz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 77 minutes of play, Garanhão do SUL's Albano Leizarraga made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jonathan Ferrant was left in no man's land by his defense there! Torcato Rebocho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albano Leizarraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. The supporters of Garanhão do SUL booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garanhão do SUL's Albano Leizarraga got a good chance for a goal in the 93rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 95 minutes into the match, Albano Leizarraga notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Garanhão do SUL fully deserved thier win.
