Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goalie and right to Luca Zorita. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Panait Hațegan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 22nd minute of play. Mădălin Cangeopol could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. 28 minutes into the game, Mexico's Joel Gaona nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Panait Hațegan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Panait Hațegan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 34th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Zorita got a free kick in the 39th minute. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mădălin Cangeopol in the 40th minute of the match. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Panait Hațegan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mădălin Cangeopol in the 44th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panait Hațegan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Panait Hațegan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 47th minute of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alberto Tafalla got free with Panait Hațegan in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Panait Hațegan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Luca Zorita in the 56th minute. In the 58th minute, Marius Tănasă hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Tractorul Satulung -MM- defense, Luca Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Panait Hațegan. The Tractorul Satulung -MM- fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Panait Hațegan should have stopped the shot. Alberto Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute Wesley Sneijder shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 69th minute of play forced Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s goalkeeper Panait Hațegan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Tafalla blasted a shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Panait Hațegan having to make a save. After a defensive mix-up in Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Panait Hațegan came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Panait Hațegan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tractorul Satulung -MM-'s Panait Hațegan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Tractorul Satulung -MM- from getting a goal against them. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alper Benli in the 92nd minute of play. In the 96th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which Panait Hațegan despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
