If Rudy Letsch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 15 minutes, Adelino Domingues mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lucca F.C and the Uruguay players grew even worse after the yellow card. Juninho Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 26 played minutes Lucca F.C got a freekick which was hit by Rudy Letsch. In the 29th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juninho Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juninho Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 40th minute of the match. If Francisco Seco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Letsch, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute, Ernesto Cearense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Lucca F.C were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Francisco Seco to strike the kick off in the second half. Juninho Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 59th minute, Zula Kaider hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jaime Cazalla was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 60th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 66th minute, Francisco Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Juninho Pena was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 70th minute, Francisco Seco made a precise shot to the right of Juninho Pena. Lucca F.C's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adelino Domingues in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. In the 78thth minute of the game Maximiliano Escribano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lucca F.C's Juninho Pena was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lucca F.C's Juninho Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Seco in the 79th minute of play. Lauro Gaúcho's late challenge caught a Uruguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lauro Gaúcho helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Lucca F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lauro Gaúcho didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Maximiliano Escribano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Pena having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Lucca F.C's Lauro Gaúcho got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Jaime Cazalla took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Juninho Pena. Lucca F.C's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line.
