Asmund Marchorst took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tomas Illescas made a great header on Venezuela's corner, it was just that Muten's Asmund Marchorst managed to reach the ball for a save. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. After having played for 26 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Uzuri in the 43rd minute of play. 44 minutes into the game, Muten's Pedro Uzuri nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Uzuri in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ridouane Palermo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. In the 56th minute, Vicente Ugutz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 57 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedro Uzuri received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Pedro Uzuri could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Uzuri in the 69th minute. After 71 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Rigoberto Mina. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Prospero Orlan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Prospero Orlan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Muten made a substitution. Prudencio Turi replaced Carmelo Rodas. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 82 minutes into the game, Jose Correa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Asmund Marchorst was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Muten's Adolfo Chago was substituted for Gonzalo Rolado. Pedro Uzuri sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laureano Llorian got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Muten's Pedro Uzuri got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Muten's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
