Benito Saturnin might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benito Saturnin ran back to his position shaking his head. 12 minutes into the game, Urban Geenen threw the ball into play from the sideline. Peru's Joaquin Prats quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Benjamin Clemencin hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Silvano Blech made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 15th minute. After a rather tough play, Vende Humo's Urban Geenen got a free kick in the 20th minute. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Silvano Blech made a huge save. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Benito Saturnin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot. In the 32nd minute Benito Saturnin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rolando Noboa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Vende Humo's goalkeeper Silvano Blech had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Julian Murillo. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benito Saturnin in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match Vende Humo got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Angelito Di Maria ran over to the corner to take the kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Silvano Blech in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Vende Humo's zone, Eliseo Mina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvano Blech came out of the goal and Eliseo Mina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Silvano Blech made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Milagros Fraga in the 51st minute of play. Silvano Blech showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Fabio Ubelteso made in the 56th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Emmanuel Reyes. 58 minutes into the match, Julian Murillo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Silvano Blech. Vende Humo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Julian Murillo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. When Julian Murillo came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Julian Murillo couldn't finish the play. Urban Geenen charged in rather forcefully in the 70th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Urban Geenen the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 71st minute, Urban Geenen hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Silvano Blech took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vende Humo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luz Tejedor was slow to take the kick. During this time Peru's players had a chance to rest. Peru's Julian Murillo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Silvano Blech in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Peru made a substitution. Antonio Tenorio replaced Luz Tejedor. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. When Benito Saturnin came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Vende Humo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Benito Saturnin couldn't finish the play. Fabricio Sandaili was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 89 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, one of Vende Humo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vende Humo. Vende Humo:s Silvano Blech showed great skill when he stopped Eliseo Mina:s penalty. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Gallo in the 94th minute of play forced Vende Humo's goalkeeper Silvano Blech to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vende Humo's Benito Saturnin got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
