After 11 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias. In the 13thth minute of the game Reynaldo Cebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 17 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Hector Covarrubias. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Reynaldo Cebo in the 25th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reynaldo Cebo in the 27th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute of the match Victorino Lyadzhin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jacobo Nores skillfully saved the ball. Reynaldo Cebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reynaldo Cebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. In the 80th minute, Faustino Montez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Supporters and players were both delighted with the win, as Paraguay had held the ball for most of the match.
