Anibal Montrel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 12th minute of the match, but Jacobo Nores made a huge save. In the 15th minute, San Antonio FC's Anibal Montrel dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. Jacobo Nores took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anibal Montrel, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Pitoy Corton in the 20th minute of play. In the 21stth minute of the game Abel Olivar who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Hector Covarrubias fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Hector Covarrubias a yellow card for diving instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abel Olivar in the 23rd minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paraguay's Jacobo Nores proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Paraguay from getting a goal against them.
