Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Gimnasia LP's Amado Sindo started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tiran Piedra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 3rd minute of the match. 8 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Benvide Ponte. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amado Sindo in the 10th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 11th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Primitivo Andino to maneuver through the defense. Primitivo Andino got a throw-in 13 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Felix Montenegro. After 16 played minutes Gimnasia LP got a freekick which was hit by 曾宽云. 21 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Tiran Piedra reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 23 minutes into the match, Benvide Ponte notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiran Piedra saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 27th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Gimnasia LP's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Benvide Ponte tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute Amado Sindo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiran Piedra breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Gimnasia LP's Tiran Piedra did a great save. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benvide Ponte in the 57th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiran Piedra narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Benvide Ponte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Primitivo Andino made in the 75th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. Benvide Ponte took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Benvide Ponte might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benvide Ponte ran back to his position shaking his head. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benvide Ponte in the 82nd minute of the match. 85 minutes into the match, Gimnasia LP's Benvide Ponte sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 86 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Melquiades Hondo was slow to take the kick. During this time Gimnasia LP's players had a chance to rest. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiran Piedra having to interfere. The Gimnasia LP players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
