After 11 minutes of play, El Salvador's Abram Luque made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. 洪钢俊 was left in no man's land by his defense there! 16 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. 洪钢俊 was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 21st minute 程悦岚 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Moises Fernandino scored 0-4 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of 洪钢俊, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save El Salvador from getting a goal against them. Marco Tamayo hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 郭建泉 struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Ricardo Zorita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Lorenzo Yepes got a free kick in the 44th minute. When the match clock showed 47 minutes, the score became 1-5 when 郭建泉 sped through El Salvador's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for 郭建泉 to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of 浙江绿城 booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valentino Ferrant didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Zorita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Osman Nuri Enver's late challenge caught a El Salvador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched El Salvador eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
