When Constantino Eneto came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the San Antonio FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Constantino Eneto couldn't finish the play. In the 18th minute Abel Olivar shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Pitoy Corton ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ricardo Zorita was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 24 minutes into the game, San Antonio FC's Abel Olivar nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Abel Olivar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. The supporters of San Antonio FC booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Leguizamo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Constantino Eneto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Pitoy Corton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Pitoy Corton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Zorita was a little too slow when Abel Olivar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 0-7. El Salvador were furious when Lorenzo Yepes was red carded, 64 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In a very dangerous position, a player in El Salvador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 63rd minute. Penalty! In the 66th minute there was a penalty for San Antonio FC. Rolando Bernaldo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ricardo Zorita. 0-8. In the 69th minute, Pitoy Corton got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abel Olivar in the 71st minute of play. Anibal Montrel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. Anibal Montrel in the 83rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Ricardo Zorita, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. In the 84th minute, Abel Olivar reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ricardo Zorita. The goal made the score 0-10. After having played for 87 minutes, Constantino Eneto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. San Antonio FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Constantino Eneto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by San Antonio FC's Anibal Montrel. But to his dismay, Anibal Montrel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abel Olivar in the 93rd minute of play.
