Tzvetan Margitov ran back to his position shaking his head. 20 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Tzvetan Margitov came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play forced Agregat Kostandovo's goalkeeper Kamen Spahiyski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. After 46 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Cristian Sancho. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Cristian Sancho did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-2 to the left of a surprised Kamen Spahiyski 77 minutes into the match. When Agregat Kostandovo's Tzvetan Margitov in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
