In the 10th match minute, Colombia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Cazalla to maneuver through the defense. Thanks to some nice moves Albert Gaardahl could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Pedro Manzanares however easily saved by the left post. Albert Gaardahl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Abram Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Vimaro having to interfere. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albert Gaardahl, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, Carmelo Vachon took a quick shot and it went in 1-1 without a chance for Pedro Manzanares to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, La Maquina 9-12-18's Alberto Luken got a free kick in the 27th minute. When Luis Cazalla fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Colombia's protests and gave Luis Cazalla a yellow card for diving instead. After 31 played minutes Colombia got a freekick which was hit by Luis Cazalla. If Albert Gaardahl had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albert Gaardahl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 38thth minute tested the skills of Pedro Manzanares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 39 minutes had been played when some careless play by Colombia's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ahmet Baki Tecimer was slow to take the kick. During this time La Maquina 9-12-18's players had a chance to rest. In the 41st minute Carmelo Vachon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albert Gaardahl who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Pedro Manzanares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Jose Vimaro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. Colombia's attentive Kevin Mastache managed to snatch the ball when Cléberson Prestes made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. Colombia's Kevin Mastache managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Cléberson Prestes in the 57 minute of the game. Abram Sarmiento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jose Vimaro having to interfere.
