Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Martin Giöck having to interfere. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Martin Giöck. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Martin Giöck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 minutes, Camilo Gaos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the FC Bors players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Patricio Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 26th minute, Thomas Andreasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the game, FC Bors's Sven-Ove Tillman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Martin Giöck made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 36th minute of play. 37 minutes in the game Richard Lundin did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Sven-Ove Tillman. Martin Giöck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 42nd minute, Thomas Andreasson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sven-Ove Tillman got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Luiz Fábio Guimarães was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Jose Correa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jose Correa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to FC Bors getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Christer Åkesson hit a great ball. Martin Giöck took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 54 minutes into the game, Thomas Andreasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Bors's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Venezuela the free kick. In the 54th match minute, FC Bors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Andreasson to maneuver through the defense. Evert Wennersten fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. FC Bors's Luiz Fábio Guimarães got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 61 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Martin Giöck narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Thomas Andreasson made in the 65th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Sven-Ove Tillman. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sven-Ove Tillman in the 73rd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. FC Bors made a substitution. Joakim Vallgren replaced Gösta Nordin. In the 76th minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 77 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Patricio Costa. After a defensive mix-up in FC Bors's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Martin Giöck came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Martin Giöck made a fantastic save in the 81st minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luiz Fábio Guimarães in the 87th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Fábio Guimarães in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. In the 90th minute Joakim Vallgren shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
