In the 8th minute the ball was on its way in behind AC Østerlars's goalkeeper Didrik Faldal, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in AC Østerlars's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Didrik Faldal came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, Earl Kjær got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Didrik Faldal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Didrik Faldal showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 15th minute of the match. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Luis Andino hit a great ball. Cristian Sancho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Didrik Faldal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute of the match, Earl Kjær tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Julio Vera saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Earl Kjær, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Didrik Faldal. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 42nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. Davide Campo, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. When Xurxo Lagala came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the AC Østerlars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xurxo Lagala couldn't finish the play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xurxo Lagala in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Didrik Faldal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Didrik Faldal made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 57th minute. 60 minutes into the game, Xurxo Lagala cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 64th minute. AC Østerlars's Xurxo Lagala got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Didrik Faldal made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 74th minute Liam Beard shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 76th match minute, AC Østerlars was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Svetaslav Navojka to maneuver through the defense. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Didrik Faldal made a huge save. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Didrik Faldal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
