Calistrat Panaitoiu fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 19th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Patriots Brasil's Vágner Vasconcelos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Calistrat Panaitoiu in the 22nd minute of play. In the 24th minute Juventus Argentina FC were awarded a corner. Froilan Seber went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 27th minute, Benedicto Bartoli got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Calistrat Panaitoiu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Zaworski in the 44th minute of play forced Juventus Argentina FC's goalkeeper Mon Navarro Montoya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Froilan Seber to strike the kick off in the second half. Calistrat Panaitoiu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vágner Vasconcelos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Froilan Seber sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute, Adrianinho Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Calistrat Panaitoiu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Vágner Vasconcelos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emilio Mata got free with Vágner Vasconcelos in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 84 minutes into the game, Bengt-Rune Mellberg cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Mon Navarro Montoya was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 89 minutes into the match, Juventus Argentina FC's goal looked a bit too open when Marcinho Camargo came free, but Mon Navarro Montoya reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute of the match Patriots Brasil got a corner. Juventus Argentina FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Alejandro Raitin ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Patriots Brasil's Alejandro Raitin to fire away a dangerous shot which Mon Navarro Montoya despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
