A collision led to Club Getafe Deportivo getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Henrico Del Bosque hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Wilhelm Nienhaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jairo Castellano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Club Getafe Deportivo booed when Hertha 1969 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gigel Elenescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jairo Castellano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wilhelm Nienhaus's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Wilhelm Nienhaus got free with Jairo Castellano in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Handi Vidales kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Hertha 1969 failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
