Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aurelio Garofalo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a rather tough play, Vaffancalcio's Emanuele Paolini got a free kick in the 8th minute. When Ecuador's Daniel Zorita in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vaffancalcio's goalie prevented a goal. 10 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aurelio Garofalo. Vaffancalcio's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 14 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuele Paolini in the 18th minute of play. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 20 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Garofalo. Aurelio Garofalo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Vaffancalcio were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Davide Vasco took the corner. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Aurelio Garofalo came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Felix Montenegro. But to his dismay, Felix Montenegro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 44th minute of the match, Davide Vasco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 48 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuele Paolini came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emanuele Paolini took the ball and in the 48 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. The Vaffancalcio players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-3.
The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Aurelio Garofalo in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuele Paolini, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Luis Andino reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aurelio Garofalo. The goal made the score 1-4. Aurelio Garofalo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 62 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aurelio Garofalo. Aurelio Garofalo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aurelio Garofalo having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 1-6 without a chance for Aurelio Garofalo to make any attempt to save it. In the 73rd minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Vaffancalcio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carmine Zaino didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute, Cristian Sancho reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Aurelio Garofalo. The goal made the score 1-7. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. In the 84th minute Emanuele Paolini shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luis Andino came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Andino couldn't finish the play. Aurelio Garofalo came out of the goal in the 87th minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-9. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 90th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
