Arne Pettersson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Herminio Abalos in the 29thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After having played for 36 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Herminio Abalos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52ndth minute of the game Herminio Abalos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Arne Pettersson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 55th minute. The corner led Venezuela's Tomas Illescas to fire away a dangerous shot which Arne Pettersson despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Herminio Abalos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Herminio Abalos scored 3-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Huracan FC's Gustaf Bogren was substituted for Conrado George. If Herminio Abalos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Huracan FC's attentive Alvaro Roderigo managed to snatch the ball when Alex Chicote made a throw-in in the 80th minute of the game. Ümit Akyüz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Huracan FC's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Pettersson came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustaf Bogren in the 91st minute of play. Huracan FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
