When Axel Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Colombia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Axel Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Salvador Urki was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Erling Håland to make the kick off.
